An Asymmetrical Puzzle Game for 2 players

Two players embody the same and unique character, inhabitant of the people of Curiosity.
You will have to cross the Observatory, a structured and rational world, using non-Euclidean mechanics.

MetaphOrder

The story

The Observatory : a world filled with portals giving views to other universes. The People of Curiosity study them and store the knowledge they accumulate in immense libraries. An observation goes wrong and the anomaly, an unknown entity , enters and spreads in the Observatory. Your character in contact with him develops a new perception of his environment and wishes to share his vision with his people. This one, suspicious, will prevent you from spreading this knowledge.

Gameplay

One player controls the character's body while the other controls the character's head (the camera).

The two players synchronize to perform two powers:

the power of rotation that allows you to move on any wall, floor or ceiling
and the power of perspective which makes it possible to connect two platforms that are distant from each other and thus cross space.

All objects and entities affected by the Anomaly respond to this new physics.

My role and my work

I pitched MetaphOrder as a 2 player puzzle game with asymmetrical gameplay.
The main intention, which remained throughout the project, is to "play" with the camera .
With the help of Baptiste, another game designer, we defined together the core gameplay of the game.

In the absence of a Manager on our project, I also took on this responsibility.

Level Design

I was in charge of the entire Level Design. This assignment includes:
designing all the puzzles , producing the blockout in the engine (I used the Probuilder add-on in Unity ), paying attention to learning and progress in terms of difficulty , adjusting my work according to feedback from playtests , constantly communicating with the team...

Stands

MetaphOrder was the subject of the creation of two stands . The goal was to allow professionals to test our game as well as to be immersed in the world of the Observatory.
